Trane Filters powered by FilterTime makes life easier and eliminates the hassles of replacing your home's air filter by delivering high-performance filters straight to your doorstep with two easy purchase options:
- Single orders
- Ongoing filter shipment subscriptions that can be cancelled at any time
For added convenience, enable Filter Reminders in the Trane Home mobile app.
With Filter Reminders, Trane Home will send you a notification when it is time to change the filter and allow you to place your Trane Filters order right from your mobile device!
These instructions will walk you through enabling Filter Reminders, getting reminders, and purchasing from Trane Filters. Use the links below to jump to a specific section.
Enabling Filter Reminders
- Log into the Trane Home mobile app.
- Select your thermostat from the Dashboard.
- Tap Settings in the lower right corner of the screen.
- Press Send Filter Reminders to toggle the switch to the right and enable reminders.
- NOTE: The toggle will turn blue when enabled.

- Select Filter Reminder Frequency. It is set to 30 days by default.
- Choose your preferred reminder frequency from the pop-up menu: 30, 60, or 90 days.
- Tap Filter Size.
- Select the appropriate size from the pop-up menu.
- Press the back button twice to return to the dashboard.
NOTE: You can return to the thermostat settings screen (steps 1-3 above) at any time if you need to make changes to the filter size or reminder frequency.
Getting Reminders
Based on your preferred Filter Reminder Frequency, you will receive notifications at 30, 60, or 90-day intervals. The notification will include the name of your thermostat.
- Tap the reminder notification to launch the Trane Home mobile app.
- Select your thermostat. It will be bordered in red instead of the usual grey.
- At the top of the screen, just above the indoor temperature, you will see a grey banner that says "Your filter needs to be replaced!" Tap the banner to proceed.
- A pop-up will appear on the screen with the options Filter Changed and Buy Filters.
- If you have already changed your filter:
- Tap Filter Changed and no further action is needed.
- This will clear the reminder and start the countdown to the next.
- Please do not use this option unless you have changed the filter.
- If you need to purchase replacement filters:
- Tap Buy Filters and follow the instructions below to order replacements through the Trane Home mobile app.
- You will be redirected to Trane Filters to complete your purchase. For purchasing instructions, please click here.
- Once you have changed your air filter, return to the reminder and press Filter Changed to clear it and reset the counter.
- Tap Buy Filters and follow the instructions below to order replacements through the Trane Home mobile app.

Purchasing from Trane Filters
When you tap the Buy Filters button in the Trane Home mobile app, you will be redirected to the Trane Filters site to purchase your filters.
- Scroll down until you see Filter Size. The size you selected when setting up Filter Reminders should be pre-selected for you. If it is not, please tap the box to select the correct size from the list.
- Tap Quantity to input the number of filters desired, then tap Add to Cart. Please note that the minimum order quantity is two.
- Review your shopping cart.
- If you need a second size for a different system, click Add Additional Size to return to the shop. Repeat steps 1 and 2.

- Scroll down to Purchase Options and select One-Time Purchase or Subscribe for Automatic Deliveries.
- If you choose automatic deliveries, you will be asked to select the frequency and start date. Be sure to click Update once you've made your selections.

- Once you have verified that your items and purchase options are correct, click Checkout to proceed.
- If you have previously ordered from Trane Filters, click Log In, enter your username and password, and skip to step 9.
- If you are purchasing for the first time, enter your billing information.
- Enter your email address and a password of your choosing. This will be your login information for future purchases.
- Using the checkboxes at the bottom, select whether this is also your shipping address and whether it should be saved as your default billing address.
- Press Continue when finished.
- If you did not select "Ship to this address" in the previous step, you will be prompted to enter your shipping information. If you opted to ship to your billing address, you will not see this prompt and can proceed to step 9.
- Use the checkbox at the bottom to identify whether this is your default shipping address.
- Press Continue when finished.
- Review and complete your purchase.
- Ensure you have selected the correct size and quantity of filter. If anything is incorrect, press the back button on your browser until you return to your shopping cart where you can make any necessary changes.
- Enter your credit card number, expiration date, and CVC code.
- Press Complete Purchase.
