Trane Home App Message - "Needs Upgrade..."
After installing a new thermostat, bridge, or Z-Wave® device and enrolling it via the mobile app, one or more devices may not display correctly, instead showing the message seen below:
This indicates that your subscription must be upgraded to control the device. Subscription changes cannot be done through the Trane Home mobile app; you must use the Trane Home web portal to manage your subscription.
- Log into the Trane Home web portal.
- Select the device category on the left that matches your new device, e.g. Climate, Security & Sensors, Lighting & Modules, etc.
- Locate the new device on the right side of the screen and click Upgrade subscription to complete device setup.
- If you were previously on a free Comfort plan, you will be prompted to add a credit card to your account.
Once your subscription has been upgraded, the new device should be controllable via the mobile app and web portal.
