Trane Home Beta App - Scheduling

NOTE: This article refers to the Trane Home Beta App only.

In the new scheduling paradigm, Periods have been replaced by Routines. There are three such Routines: Home, Away, and Bedtime. Below, you will find definitions of each routine and instructions to walk you through how to configure and use them.

Routine Definitions

Home:
The Home routine is the default. It will be the current routine if neither Away nor Bedtime routines are scheduled.
Away:
The Away routine is intended for when your home is unoccupied. The default schedule for this routine is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Bedtime:
The Bedtime routine is intended for when the house is occupied, but everyone is asleep. There is no default schedule for this routine.

Adding or Editing a Schedule for a Routine

It is possible to add a schedule to the Away and Bedtime routines. The Home routine cannot have a schedule attached to it because it is the default and will run whenever neither the Away nor Bedtime routine is active. To add a schedule to the Away or Bedtime routine:

Tap the Schedule (Routines) icon in the lower center part of the screen.
Choose either Away or Bedtime.
Select the day for which you want to schedule that Routine.
- If there is no schedule for that add, choose Add.
- If there's already a schedule for that day, choose Edit.
Touch the time below Start Time to change when the Routine begins.
Touch the time below End Time to change when the Routine ends.
You can duplicate the schedule to other days by selecting them at the bottom of the screen.
Press Create or Update to save.
Proceed to Configuring Setpoints for Routines to set your preferred temperatures for each routine.

Configuring Setpoints for Routines

In the Schedule screen, tap the temperature display under the routine name.
Your current routine will be selected by default. If you want to modify the setpoints for a different routine, select it from the list.
Tap the arrow next to Heat To or Cool To.
Select your desired temperature from the list; you can scroll up and down to see the full list.
After changing one of the setpoints, the mobile app will return to the Routines screen and display a message indicating that your setpoint changes were saved.
To change additional setpoints, repeat steps 1-4.

Deleting a Schedule for a Routine

To delete a schedule for either the Away or Bedtime routine:

Tap the Schedule icon in the lower center part of the screen.
Choose either Away or Bedtime.
Select the day for which you want to delete the schedule.
Press Delete.
Tap Delete to confirm.

Temporarily Switching Routines

You can temporarily switch between Home and Away routines, allowing you to override your schedules without modifying them. For example, you can temporarily enable the Away routine when running an errand or spending an evening out, or temporarily enable the Home routine when working from home for the day.

NOTE: The Bedtime routine does not support manually switching routines.

Home to Away

1. To temporarily switch to Away while running the Home routine, tap Set to Away.
2. Once you have switched to Away, you will see a box that says "Until <time>..." under the current routing and temperature. This time is when the next routine begins and when the system will automatically revert to its schedule.
  - - If desired, you can set a specific time when the system will revert to its scheduled routine. This step is optional.
      1. Select Until <time>...
      2. Tap the current end time.
      3. Select a new end time by scrolling up or down for hour, minute, and AM/PM. Press OK when finished.
      4. Tap Save to apply the new end time.
      5. The app will display a message indicating when the schedule will revert to the Home routine.
      6. Tap End Now at any time before the scheduled end time to revert to the Home routine.

Away to Home

To temporarily switch to Home while running the Away routine, tap End Now.

Pause Function

You will see a Pause button in all three routines. For more information about this function, please see Pause Heating and Cooling in the Trane Home Beta App.

Permanent Hold

Permanent hold cannot be engaged from the mobile app, but it can be engaged from the web portal or the thermostat itself.

If Permanent Hold is enabled via the portal or thermostat, the app will display Override and Holding Indefinitely.
The override can be ended like any other override - choose End Now to resume running routines.

Disabling Routines

Routines (scheduling) cannot be disabled via the mobile app, but they can be disabled from the web portal or the thermostat itself.

If Routines are disabled via the web portal or thermostat, 1-Touch Presets become available. Touch a preset to set the heat and cool setpoint to the values defined for that preset. Presets cannot be changed through the mobile app or web portal; they can only be changed on the thermostat itself.
