3rd Party Smart Home Controller Integration

The 3rd Party Controller feature allows Trane® HVAC systems, when paired with the Trane XL1050 Smart Thermostat, to be integrated with your choice of the following compatible third-party smart home controllers.

A software driver is required for these 3rd-party integrations. The drivers are available from the Control Concepts website at Trane's Modules and Drivers.

NOTE:

A driver is still under development for the new Link (UX360) system and is not yet available;
it is expected sometime in the future.

With this feature, you can use a compatible automation system to control the various devices in your home, including:

Lighting
Locks
Security Cameras
Home Theaters
Trane HVAC systems via the Trane XL1050 Smart Thermostat.

The third-party controller feature allows the remote control of the following HVAC/thermostat functions:

Temperature setpoint
Fan mode
Ability to query the current temperature
Individual Zone control

NOTE:

For secure communications with the Trane XL1050 Smart Thermostat, new software driver modules will need to be downloaded and installed by a qualified home automation technician for all compatible third-party controller systems except Savant. Savant systems do not require additional software. The technician will determine system compatibility based on the minimum system requirements to support the drivers.
The Trane XL1050 Smart Thermostat requires v5.9 firmware or later to support the compatible third-party controllers.
