How To Reboot a Trane® Priority Thermostat
The Trane Priority thermostat has an easy-to-use, on-screen reboot button when needed and can also be power-cycled at the circuit breaker.
★ WARNING ★PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THE THERMOSTAT FROM THE WALL! DOING SO CAN DAMAGE COMPONENTS! |
Soft Reboot (On-Screen)
This is the recommended method and should be attempted first whenever possible.
- Tap the three horizontal bars (hamburger button) in the upper-left corner of the thermostat to open the menu.
- Select System.
- Select Restart.
- A pop-up will appear asking for confirmation. Select Restart to reboot the thermostat.
Hard Reboot
Use this method only if the soft reboot cannot be performed (i.e., when the thermostat is blank or unresponsive) or as directed by Trane Home support.
- MAKE SURE THAT THE HVAC SYSTEM IS IDLE BEFORE PROCEEDING!
- Locate the switch for your thermostat.
- There is no standard way to determine how a thermostat is powered/wired, where the switch is located, or how it may be labeled. The thermostat may share a circuit with your indoor unit; it may be on a dedicated switch that looks like a light switch on or near your indoor unit, or it may be wired/powered in a less common way. If you cannot locate the correct switch, we recommend contacting your local HVAC dealer for assistance.
- After locating the switch, flip it to the OFF position and verify the thermostat is blank (no power).
- If the thermostat is not blank, please return to step 2 and try again to identify the correct switch.
- Once the thermostat screen is blank for at least 15-20 seconds, return the switch to the ON position.
- The reboot process may take a few minutes to complete.
