Creating Modes

Modes allow you to group and activate related automations into convenient categories. 

Use Modes and Automations together to customize your home.  For example, you can limit "turn on lights when unlocking the door" to nighttime hours only by creating a mode and attaching an automation to it.

Modes are fully customizable, allowing you to select exactly what each mode should do. 

NOTE: You can have a total of five modes configured on an account.  Only one mode can be active at a time.

To Create a Mode

1. Log in to the Trane® Home web portal.

2. If you have multiple homes, select the home for which you would like to create a mode.
   
   

3. Select Modes on the grey banner at the top of the screen.
   
   

4. Click Create Mode. 
   
   

5. Enter a name for the new mode, select an icon, and click Save Changes.
   
   

6. The new mode should now appear next to the existing modes.  Press Add next to any automations you would like to add to the mode.
   
   

7. Use the dropdown box in the upper left corner of any page on the portal to change modes.
