Trane® Certified and Compatible Products

 

Certified vs. Compatible 

We are often asked which products will work with Trane Home, how “Trane Certified” products differ from “Compatible” devices, and if any available Z-Wave® products sold by other retailers will work with Trane Home.  To make it easy, we have compiled a list of products that currently work with Trane Home.  These products fall into one of two categories: Trane Certified products or Compatible products.  The difference is based on the level of functionality and validation.

  • Trane Certified Products are Z-Wave devices and certain Wi-Fi devices that have passed Trane’s rigorous testing for advanced integration to ensure a reliable and streamlined user experience.  Also, the product may offer additional features and functionality beyond the basic functions.  We only sell Trane Certified devices on our Products page.

  • Compatible Products are Z-Wave-only devices that comply with the Z-Wave open architecture standards.  At a minimum, the basic product functionality is offered through Trane Home.  For example, a water leak sensor product may also have a built-in temperature sensor.  In this example, the primary water leak detection function should work with Trane Home, but the temperature sensor may not, since it is a secondary function of the device.
